FAQs

You Asked, We Answered

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a simple, gentle, hands-on energy technique that is used for stress reduction and relaxation. Treatments are given fully clothed on a massage table or at home in a comfortable location to lie down if distant treatments are desired.

What is Tui Na (推拉)?

Tui Na is a Chinese Style of Bodywork (massage) that uses the organ channels similar to those in acupuncture.

Why do Reiki?

We all have access to the life force energy, otherwise known as our Chi, (or Qi) in China, Prana in India, or Biofield in the sciences. This energy flows through each and every living being. Reiki is one of many ways to link to and channel this energy for the healing benefit of others. People most commonly seek Reiki to help them prepare for or recover from surgery, manage stress and anxiety, cope with the loss of a loved one, or as an adjunct to professional medical care, like cancer treatment.

Why do Tui Na?

Distant Reiki is very useful for those who wish for a safe, risk-free Reiki session, such as those who are undergoing chemotherapy or the immune-compromised. Reiki practitioners learn practices during their schooling to use specifically for distance Reiki treatments.

What happens during a Reiki session?

During the session, you might notice a warming sensation in certain areas. In other areas, you might not notice anything at all. Even if you come in with a particular problem area, you may experience a sense of relaxation that affects your whole body. You might even fall asleep during the session.

How do I find a qualified practitioner?

Reiki practitioners need to complete two trainings prior to working with a client. I recommend going by feel when choosing your practitioner. Before you book your first session, ask questions: Which style do they use? Where did they learn to do Reiki?

What style Reiki does Jessi Edmunds practice?

Jessi Edmunds is certified by the ICRT using the Usui Holy Fire III Reiki method taught to her by a senior Master Teacher. The ICRT is one of the largest, most respected and professional Reiki organizations in the world. I often use incense, singing bowls, tuning forks or crystals to aid in relaxation.

Is there anyone who should avoid Reiki?

No. It’s a gentle therapy that’s safe for anyone, including babies and seniors.

Is Reiki a religion?

No. Reiki is not a religion. In fact, you can use Reiki if you are of a religion or not. It comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning life energy. For some, Reiki is a form of prayer, tapping into “source,” or simply a guided imagery meditation.

What if I don't want Reiki?

Similarly to meditation or hypnosis, Reiki will only work with your energy if you give it permission to do so. If you are not ready or do not want it, it will not mess with your energy field.

Why does Jessi Edmunds use crystals?

On the scientific side, sliver of quartz crystal can store 360TB of data for 14 billion years on a 5D plane. They also are soft on the eyes and allow easier relaxation. On the metaphysical side, crystals have a stable energy pattern, each with a unique frequency that acts as a tuning fork.

What are your payment options?
